Important Dates & Deadlines

While April 15th is widely known as the most important tax date each year, there are multiple tax deadlines throughout the year depending on your individual and business tax and accounting situation.

Here’s a helpful list of tax dates and deadlines for the 2023 tax season deadlines. Below you will find the most important 2023 tax deadlines for easy reference to know when your taxes are due.

*The following tax deadlines are for calendar year entities. Fiscal year entities have different due dates.
 

  • January 16
    • 4th Quarter estimated tax payment (Tax Year 2023) – If you pay estimated quarterly taxes, your fourth payment for the tax year 2023 (Form 1040-ES) is due January 16.
  • January 31
    • Forms 1099-NEC Deadline for Businesses – If your business paid over $600 in the last year, to any non-incorporated business for services, are required to issue them a 1099-NEC before January 31.
    • Forms W-2 and W-3 Deadline for Businesses – You will need to provide any W-2 or W-3 Forms to the IRS, as well as provide W-2’s to all employees you employed in 2023.
  • March 15
    • Income Tax Filing Deadline for S Corporations (Form 1120-S) and Partnerships (Form 1065)
    • If you think you’ll miss the deadline or need some extra time, March 15 is also the last day to file for an extension.
  • April 15
    • Income Tax Filing Deadline for Individuals (Form 1040), Sole Proprietorships (Form 1040 with Schedule C), C Corporations (Form 1120), Homeowners Associations (Form 1120-H), Estates & Trusts (Form 1041 or Form 706).
    • If you think you’ll miss the deadline or need some extra time, April 15 is also the last day to file for an extension!
    • First Quarterly Estimated Tax Payment Deadline (Tax Year 2024)
  • April 30
    • First Quarter Payroll Tax Filing Deadline (Form 941)
  • June 17
    • Second Quarterly Estimated Tax Payment Deadline (Tax Year 2024)
  • July 31
    • Second Quarter Payroll Tax Filing Deadline (Form 941)
  • September 15
    • Third Quarterly Estimated Tax Payment Deadline (Tax Year 2024)
    • If you’re an S-Corporation or Partnership who filed for an extension, your tax filing deadline is September 15.
  • October 15
    • If you’re an Individual, Sole Proprietorship, or C corporation who filed for an extension, your tax filing deadline is October 15.
  • October 31
    • Third Quarter Payroll Tax Filing Deadline (Form 941)
